The Tiny Black Dots are currently Jhina Alvarado (Vocals and Cello) and Tom Risse everything else.

Started in the late summer of 2004 with a well placed sarcastic ad on craigslist, we quickly had 6 songs recorded in the Park Plaza studio that is the living room of Tom’s house. These songs Recess, Indian Summer, Take it Away, Goodbye, Guided and Too were grouped together in a tentatively titled album “Designing a Nervous Breakdown”.

In the spring of 2005 with our 6 songs in hand we found Scott Weigel and he was recruited to play bass and became a great part of the songwriting process for the band, which was then just hanging out playing on acoustics in Jhina’s living room. Not long after that we had a rehearsal space and were working with Randy Leasure on drums.

Later in 2005 Chris Machiran was added on guitar to fill out the live band lineup and would contribute guitar to “All the Jackets in the world” which would later on show up on a video game release CD.

This live lineup would last until April 2006 when the live band was abandoned and Jhina and Tom went back to the studio to work on a new set of songs for their next album “Coming apart slowly”
